The Buddhist Community Alliance (BCA) held its bimonthly Coordination Committee Meeting on Sunday, 25 August 2013 at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  At the meeting, the previous rotating chairman and President of Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society Bro. Tan Kim Chan, formally handed over the chairmanship to Bro. Lee Kong Foo, President of Nalanda Buddhist Society.  Also present were President of Seremban Sudhamma Buddhist Society Dr. Oo Swee Khoon, Bro. Henry Wong of Sungai Long Buddhist Society, and representatives from BCA member organisations.

At the meeting, a new post of “BCA Director” was created to meet the growing needs for closer cooperation and better integration among member organisations.  Sis. Paruadi Ramasamy, the immediate past President of Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society, was appointed the first BCA Director, tasked with overseeing improvements in Dhamma Schools and achieving greater overall integration.  Bro. Richard Lee remains the Secretary of BCA.

For the first time, a common ‘BCA T-shirt’ was unveiled and the Committee members sportingly wore it to attend the meeting.  The meeting ended on a high note, with the leaders promising to look into expanding areas of cooperation and enhancing community service.
