Pustaka Nalanda (Library Department)
Pustaka Nalanda is an integral part of Nalanda in fulfiling its objectives to promote learning, study, practice and understanding of Buddha’s teachings. It provides support for various educational programmes offered by Nalanda Institute and Nalanda Vidyālaya. Thus, the Library is an important component in making Nalanda a centre of excellence in Buddhist education. Pustaka Nalanda currently has nearly five thousand titles comprising Pāli Scriptures, reference materials, books, periodicals, magazines and other Buddhist publications in several languages.
Pustaka Nalanda’s objectives are four-fold:
- To make available the correct and quality reading materials to promote the learning, study, practice and right understanding of Buddhist teachings.
- To maintain a current and adequate multi-media collection of learning resources.
- To support and complement Nalanda’s educational programmes.
- To be well-equipped as a reference library for academic courses in Buddhist studies up to Diploma levels.
Nada Nalanda (Publications Department)
Department Objectives:
- To publish articles of research, creative ideas and trends in Buddhist studies, research, leadership and management issues.
- To publish newsletter, periodicals and brochures of Nalanda Institute for the purpose of publicity, promotion and Dhamma propagation.
