On 30 July, we reached a milestone of administering more than 20 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. As part of the national immunisation programme, vaccination centres are now cumulatively giving more than 500,000 doses a day. This could not be achieved without the dedication and commitment of our front-liners who do not shy away from their critical roles even as the number of new infections climb.
We express our gratitude to all our selfless doctors, nurses and volunteers who are the heart of this fight against Covid-19. Let us send thoughts of loving-kindness to front-liners and all those impacted by the pandemic. Should we have opportunities to support them in kind, let us also reach out with compassion and care.
There is still a journey ahead before we can return to a reasonable norm. Therefore, let us continue to play our role in supporting the vaccination programme so that our communities can reach herd immunity and more importantly, keep strict SOP in the spirit of harmlessness to all. Together, we will persevere in facing this difficult time with courage and hope.
