Today marks the 6th anniversary of the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 which was enroute to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam. Three hours after taking off from Schipol Airport, the Boeing 777 was shot down over Eastern Ukraine and all 298 lives on board were lost.
After years of investigations by an international team, four suspects have been called to trial. The proceedings which started in March this year, resumed in June due to necessary measures to contain Covid-19. As events unfold, let us receive the news with calm and empathy for all involved.
We dedicate merits to the casualties of MH17 and their loved ones. May the victims’ surviving family members have strength and courage to cope with the developments of the on-going trial. May those who perished rest in Peace.
