8th A.G.M. of Nalanda KL Branch

Nalanda President Sis. Evelyn addressed to all KL Branch members.

On Sunday 7 March, members of Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch gathered joyfully at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang for their 8th AGM.  The meeting was also joined by Nalanda Buddhist Society President, Sis. Evelyn Chow, Honorary Secretary Sis. Santi Cheang, Board of Management member Bro. Lee Kong Foo and EXCO member Sis. Nandini Tan.

In his Branch Chairman address, Bro. Yong welcomed all members and thanked them for their participation and service in the past year even amidst the Covid-19 lockdowns.  He recollected their inspiring efforts in working harmoniously together to bring online the weekly meditation and Dhamma sharing sessions, as well as a virtual course on the ‘Mangala Sutta’ which benefitted many eager learners.

Members listened attentively to the reports by Branch Committee officers.

On behalf of the Society, Sis. Evelyn expressed appreciation to the KL Branch members for their support, and also thanked Bro. Yong and his Branch Committee members for their leadership.  Members then received and approved the reports for the year as presented by the Branch Secretary and Treasurer before voting for their peers to take up positions as Branch Auditors for the new term of 2021-2022.

The renovation works will start in April 2021 due to the uncontrollable delay caused by the pandemic.

Members were updated on the renovation works being carried out at NEO Centre KL and rejoiced over the progress.  To provide a much larger capacity for learning programmes, everyone prepared to gear up to ensure the successful funding and completion of the Centre.  Our active participation will also reap its rightful benefits for the Buddha-Sasana and the larger community.  Let us all lend our support!
