On Sunday 20 April, Nalandian youths had a truly wonderful session with the new batch of National Service (NS) trainees at Nalanda Centre. Arriving half an hour earlier and catching us by surprise while we were in the midst of preparing for their programme, Nalandian youths did a great job in quickly setting things in order to welcome the NS trainees.
The session started with Pūja and chanting to compose the mind for better learning. This was followed by a sharing by Bro. Zhen Shun on the “7 Qualities of a Good Friend” from the Angutara Nikaya. To enhance their learning experience, trainees had a reflective time identifying each other’s positive and negative traits through engaging activities.
An impromptu, vibrant and energetic singing session followed, upon requests by enthusiastic trainees. Linking arms and moving in circles, the trainees had a delightful time while further cementing their friendship.
We are glad that all trainees had an enjoyable session learning the Dhamma and bonding with Nalanda youths. We look forward to meeting our new NS friends again next week for more learning sessions together.
