96th Birth Anniversary of Venerable Ajahn Chah

Commemorating Venerable Ajahn Chah on his 96th birth anniversary today.

As one of the most revered Buddhist teachers in modern times, the late Ajahn Chah inspired thousands of Thai and foreign bhikkhus to practise according to the ‘forest monk’ tradition. Presently, his many disciples continue to widen the interests of the world in meditation and in living a simple way of life.

Let us thank and pay tribute to a great teacher in Luang Pu Chah Subaddho (หลวงปู่ชา) on his 96th birth anniversary today.  Well-practiced ones such as he are like beacons to the masses, shining the Path of Dhamma for millions to step forward.  Sadhu anumodantu.

“The heart of the path is quite easy.
There’s no need to explain anything at length.
Let go of love and hate and let things be.
That’s all that I do in my own practice.”

Ajahn Chah (1918 – 1992)
