Conclusion of Buddhist Studies Course in JB

Mandarin Buddhist Studies Course participants at the successful completion of their 5-month programme.

Report by Rose Cho

On 25 and 26 October, the final two sessions of the Mandarin Buddhist Studies Course (Semester 2) was conducted by Sis. Nandini Tan at NEO Centre Johor Bahru.  Sis. Nandini gave separate lectures on the ‘Four Noble Truths’ and ‘Noble Eightfold Path’.  Six new participants joined the weekend’s class and showed great enthusiasm by arriving early at the Centre to learn the Dhamma.

Participants were divided into groups and given the topic of ‘Dukkha’ (unsatisfactoriness) for discussions.  The opportunity to interact and share their experiences on ‘Dukkha’ opened up the participants’ minds on the wide range of unsatisfactoriness in daily living and ways to overcome them.

Participants share their experiences on ‘Dukkha’ (unsatisfactoriness), and its overcoming.

The Mandarin Buddhist Studies Course concluded with the presentation of “Certificates of Participation” to attendees.   Participants were reminded to strive on and put into practice what they have learnt throughout this course.
