26 December 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of the devastating Indian Ocean Tsunami which struck the coastal areas of the Bay of Bengal, killing more than 230,000 people and displacing another 2 million across 14 countries. Many families lost their livelihood and every material thing they owned.
Scenes of desolation, despair and agony over the tragedy were broadcast all over the world, prompting the greatest outpour of donation, prayers, and assistance in human history.
We humbly invite everyone to spare a few quiet moments in memory of all victims and casualties of the colossal tragedy. Let us also honour the selfless and courageous thousands of people who rushed in to help the victims, and in the process, some had lost their lives, too.
Reflect wisely on the truth of impermanence, and that all lives end in death, eventually. May all beings be at Peace.
