On Monday 4 May, members of Nalanda Sungai Petani Branch made a stopover at Mangala Lodge in Kampar while on their way from Serdang to Kedah. The Nalandian group was led by Branch Chairman Bro. Khaw Seng Giap and Deputy Chairman Bro. Teoh Soon Liang. They were met in Kampar by Mangala Lodge trustees, Mr. and Mrs. Koh.
Mangala Lodge was recently established as a hostel and student community centre catering for college students in Kampar. Located in the suburb of Kampar Putra not far from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), the Lodge comprises 3 units of single-storey terrace houses with 12 rooms, a spacious activity hall, library, kitchen and dining area.
This is the second time that Sungai Petani Branch members had visited Mangala Lodge. The group spent some time touring the renovated facility and they also participated in a pūja led by Lodge Captain Bro. Lee Kern. Next up, Nalandian youths will be organizing a visit to Kampar in the middle of June to get to know Mangala Lodge better and to visit the Buddhist Society in UTAR. Sadhu!
