On Sunday 3 May, a “Mass Food Offering” was held at Nalanda Centre from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, where cooked meals were offered freely to the community. This food offering has been a Nalandian custom since the first year of Wesak celebrations in Sri Serdang. Devotees would normally cook or pack food to be given to visitors to Nalanda Centre, as an act of charity and to cultivate generosity.
Nalandians and volunteers happily served food to the public that came individually or in groups with families and friends in tow. It was indeed a joyful occasion to immerse ourselves spiritually with meritorious deeds on Wesak ‘Buddha Day’.
Our appreciation to all volunteers and devotees who contributed food and services to celebrate with the public on this auspicious day. Sadhu anumodana!
