On Sunday 30 August, Nalandians and devotees gathered at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang for a Dhamma talk by Achariya Tan Siang Chye with the title “A Humble Tribute”. He recollected his fond memories of the much respected and beloved Venerable Kirinde Sri Dhammananda Nāyaka Thero.
The late Ven. K Sri Dhammananda was a sharp-minded intellect. He was an extraordinary man, teacher and monk. He preached by example through his qualities of humanity, dedication, courage and determination. Despite suffering from ill-health and other challenges, he dedicated his life propagating Buddha-Dhamma and whole-heartedly serving the community. His kindness and compassion touched many hearts.
The late venerable’s great qualities had inspired many Buddhist leaders to emulate him for the benefits of the community by serving the Buddha-Sasana.
We thank Achariya Siang Chye for his recollection of the late venerable. The weekly ‘Service Sunday’ concluded with Sanghika Dāna and lunch for devotees. Sadhu anumodana.
