On Saturday 27 February, a team of 10 Nalandians comprising President Sis. Evelyn, Dhamma School Director Sis. Sunanda, Sis. Joanne, and youths helped to pack food for the needy at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Sungai Long campus.  The event was organised by the UTAR Sungai Long Buddhist Society, in collaboration with the international hunger-relief organisation, ‘Stop Hunger Now’.

Thirty thousand packages comprising rice, lentils, dried vegetables and food supplements were packed and sent to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society and Chin Student Association for distribution to the underprivileged in different parts of Southeast Asia.  The youths were grateful for the learning experience and opportunity to contribute towards the effort to reduce world hunger.
