Prioritise Dhamma learning this Wesak

Prioritise Dhamma learning this Wesak

Wesak 'Buddha Day' Dhamma teachings in 2016.

A series of Dhamma teachings are lined up for this weekend’s Wesak ‘Buddha Day’ observance.

Wesak ‘Buddha Day’ commemorates the profound event of Buddha’s ‘Enlightenment’ – in other words, His complete realisation of truth and liberation from suffering.  The path towards ‘Enlightenment’ begins with learning and practising Dhamma.  Thus, we should prioritise spiritual cultivation over rituals in observing Wesak Day.

Nalanda Centre will be offering such opportunities aplenty this weekend, with Dhamma teachings by Bro.Tan on Wesak Eve (Friday, 8.00pm) and ‘Buddha Day’ (Saturday, 9.30am; and ‘Sutta Study’ at 3.00pm).  There are also English Dhamma talks by Achariya Vijaya Samarawickrama and Achariya Tan Siang Chye, as well as Mandarin talks by Bro. Aggaphala Yap lined up for everyone.

Sutta Study session on Saturday, 21 May, at 3.00 pm.

Nalanda founder Bro. Tan will be leading a Sutta Study session on Saturday, 21 May, at 3.00 pm.

For the full three-day Wesak Observance programme at Nalanda Centre from 20 to 22 May, please visit: http://www.nalanda.org.my/event/wesak-observance-buddha-day/

We look forward to seeing you at Nalanda Centre and NEO Centres on this sacred and spiritual occasion.  Let us come together as a community to prioritise learning and practising Dhamma, which are far more meaningful and beneficial.  All are welcome!
