It’s heartening indeed to see the young being taught to offer Dana.

It’s heartening indeed to see the young being taught to offer Dana.

On 7 May, Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch organised the monthly Pindacāra education programme at Taman OUG and Happy Garden.  Nalanda’s people-engagement team went around the market areas to create awareness among stall-holders and members of the public on the significance of the practice.

Two venerables were invited to go on alms-round, and after which, the venerables and Nalandians adjourned to NEO Centre KL for chanting and a Dhamma talk by Sis. Santi, who spoke on why the cultivation of generosity is an important spiritual practice.  She explained that this cultivation of generosity will help in eradicating the defilements of greed, anger and delusion.  And although we are encouraged to offer material things and our services, the most excellent Dāna is the giving of Dhamma.

We thank the venerable monks for their compassion, and Sis. Santi for the meaningful sharing.  Sadhu anumodana.
