The ‘Buddha Jayanti’ exhibition is an important programme at Nalanda’s Wesak Observance, and it is usually held over 4 days.

As part of the annual ‘Buddha Day’ celebrations, Nalanda Dhamma School has been organising educational exhibitions for the public since 2006.  Every year, School facilitators and students will prepare exhibits for the ‘Buddha Jayanti’ Exhibition in May, as part of their curriculum.

Different themes were chosen for the yearly exhibitions.  This year’s theme was “K. Sri Dhammananda – A Beacon of Dhamma”; it was chosen to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the late Venerable K. Sri Dhammananda’s passing.  The exhibition chronicles the late venerable’s missionary activities in Malaysia since 1952, especially his close association with the founding of Nalanda Buddhist Society.  In fact, the late Ven. Dhammananda was the teacher who gave Nalanda its name, and was appointed our Spiritual Adviser.
