This morning, we are saddened to note the passing away of Most Venerable Nauyane Ariyadhamma Nāyaka Thero, well-known meditation teacher and Spiritual Director of the Sri Kalyāni Yogashārama in Sri Lanka.

Ven. Ariyadhamma was one of the leading lights of the Sri Lankan Sangha.  In September 2014, he was appointed an ‘Anunāyake Thera’ (leading elder) of the Ramaňňa Nikāya.  In July this year, Ven. Ariyadhamma underwent an open-heart surgery and was hospitalised for quite some time.  He never fully recovered from the difficult physical ordeal.

Nalanda Buddhist Society records our deepest condolences to the disciples, students and devotees of the late Venerable Ariyadhamma Nāyaka Thero.  We shall dedicate merits to his reverence after tonight’s meditation session at Nalanda Centre.  Santī, Peace.
