Tahn Chao Khun Eak of Tumpat, Kelantan, passed away this morning.

We are saddened to announce that the Chief monk of Kelantan Thai Sangha and Abbot of Wat Phikulthong Vararam in Kampung Terbok, Tumpat – the most Venerable Chao Khun Eak – passed away peacefully at 5.15am this morning.  He was 85.

We convey our deepest condolences to the Buddhist community in Kelantan, the local Thai Sangha, and devotees of Wat Phikulthong on Luang Por Eak’s demise.  May the late ‘Tahn Chao Khun’ attain the bliss of Nibbāna.  Santī.

Wat Phikulthong Vararam is located in Kampung Terbok, Tumpat district bordering Thailand.

The temple is well-known for its large standing Buddha image.
