On Sunday 2 April, Sis. Santī Cheang presented a talk on ‘how to grow ourselves’ in spirituality and wisdom.  She said that most people nowadays seek ‘happiness’ from external stimulus. However, such fleeting and worldly happiness does not make us spiritually grounded, and gives us no lasting satisfaction.

Quoting Nalanda founder Bro. Tan, Sis. Santī shared that ‘the quality of our minds affects the quality of our lives’.  We should allocate more time to grow ourselves spiritually – by cultivating mindfulness, awareness, and serenity – which improves the quality of our minds.

The highest potential for a human being is Enlightenment.  We should thus strive to grow our wisdom so that we are closer to fulfilling our true potential. Constantly reflecting and contemplating the Dhamma in order to have more wholesome thoughts and develop Right Views – this is the recipe for growing ourselves in wisdom.
