‘Dhamma Day’ celebration this week

‘Dhamma Day’ celebration this week

‘Dhamma Day’ Full-moon Uposatha Service.

We invite you to join in this Saturday’s ‘Dhamma Day’ Full-moon Uposatha Service.  Welcome all.

This weekend, we are celebrating ‘Dhamma Day’ (Saturday) and ‘Dhammacakka Day’ (Sunday) at Nalanda in conjunction with Asalha Full-moon.  We gratefully commemorate the preaching of the Buddha’s first discourse after His Enlightenment – the ‘Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta’ – where He taught His initial disciples the fundamental teachings of the ‘Four Noble Truths’.

We invite you to join in this Saturday’s ‘Dhamma Day’ Full-moon Uposatha Service, and observe this spiritual occasion with offerings, chanting, meditation, and a Dhamma talk by Achariya Tan Siang Chye, the Director of Nalanda Institute Malaysia.

On Sunday, come and practise meditation, participate in communal chanting, and offer Sanghika Dāna, lunch offering to monks.  Nalanda founder Bro. Tan will be explaining the contents and meaning of the famous ‘Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta’ from its original Pāli language discourse.  He will also be giving the concluding teachings of this year’s ‘Gimhāna Retreat’.  All are welcome!
