Besides aiming to raise funds for holistic education, Nalanda Family Fun Fair also fulfills its community-service objective by inviting charitable homes to participate in the event.  This year, Tong Sim Senior Citizens’ Home in Kampung Subang, Siddharthan Care Centre in Petaling Jaya, and Bodhi Home Centre in Cheras will be taking part in our Fun Fair.

We are pleased to see that enterprises and individuals have been purchasing coupons and goods to be offered to charitable homes.  One of the corporate participants is Kemaman Bitumen Company Sdn. Bhd. (KBC), which has generously sponsored RM5,000 worth of fresh food, dried food, and household items purchased from the Fun Fair to the three homes mentioned above.  This is part of the company’s annual corporate social responsibility programme to help Malaysian charities with donations and services.

KBC’s Human Resources Manager Puan Haliza recently joined Nalandian officers in visiting the charity homes to distribute the company’s sponsorship items.

A special counter will be set up at this year’s Family Fun Fair to encourage the public to purchase and offer goods to charity homes.  You may buy suitable items at this Sunday’s Fair, and bring them to the special counter as offering to the needy.  Nalanda volunteers will help to send your gifts over to senior citizens’ homes and orphanages around the Klang Valley.
