Forum on overcoming mental suffering

Forum on overcoming mental suffering

This public forum is held in conjunction with the 11th anniversary of Nalanda Institute Malaysia.

“You can put it down – Understand Suffering and Suffer Less”

The entire teachings of the Buddha can be summarised as follows: knowing the true nature of suffering and overcoming it. Today’s ultrafast-paced urban lifestyle with myriad distractions inevitably leads to layers of mental suffering, most commonly stress and dissatisfaction.  Mental health has become highly endangered and many people risk having debilitating mental illness without positive intervention.

In conjunction with Nalanda Institute’s 11th Anniversary this Sunday, Nalanda founder Bro. Tan, Institute Director Achariya Tan Siang Chye, and Sister Tan Yee Yong will speak on effective ways to overcome mental suffering with Dhamma.

This special forum explores how a person can, through the study and practice of Buddha’s teachings, avoid or alleviate much mental suffering. It will also discuss how one can come to terms with suffering in order to live purposefully.

We welcome everyone to attend this public forum at Nalanda Centre on 1 July.
