On Sunday, 11 November 2012, more than 100 devotees gathered at Nalanda Centre to participate in the auspicious annual Robes Offering Ceremony. The Srivijaya Hall was packed to the brim; yet the air of peacefulness, devotion and concord was unmistakably present. Seated together, devotees were united in their aspirations in supporting the Buddhist Sangha.
Calming our minds and radiating loving-kindness to all beings on this blessed occasion. May all beings be well and happy.
Mr. Vijaya Samarawickrama, Director of Nalanda Institute, was invited to give a Dhamma talk. He shared on the significance of Kathina and offering robes. It is important to remember that we are extending our support to the entire lineage of Sangha, tracing back to the Lord Buddha himself. We are showing our gratitude and appreciation to those who practise and perpetuate the Dhamma, and thus prolonging the Buddha Sasana.
