Launch of new Wesak website

Share this new website with your contacts so as to make their ‘Buddha Day’ celebration more inspiring and informative.  Thank you!

We are very grateful to announce the launch of a new website dedicated to ‘Buddha Day’ 2020 Celebration.  Please visit www.wesak.org.my

When the “Movement Control Order” was imposed in Malaysia on 18 March 2020, we at Nalanda Buddhist Society presumed that this year’s ‘Buddha Day’ Celebration will be very different from previously.  Crowds will not be able to physically attend Dhamma teachings, meditation and religious services at monasteries and Buddhist Centres.

Hence, the team at Nalanda quickly spearheaded the development of a special website to collect videos and articles that can help devotees observe Wesak ‘Buddha Day’ meaningfully.  As a Buddhist educational institution, our goal was to make the new website a convenient source of reliable information which is easy to navigate and user-friendly.

Among the attractive contents on the website are:

  • Videos of Dhamma talks by lay speakers, including several exclusive interviews.
  • Articles related to the Buddha, His Enlightenment, and Buddhist history.
  • A creative virtual exhibition presented by Nalanda Dhamma School.
  • Listing of Nalanda ‘Buddha Day’ programmes on 6 May and 7 May.

After weeks of hard work and dedication, we are delighted to launch the website today.  I would like to thank our amazing staff and youthful volunteers who donated their time and effort to create this wonderful website.  Your efforts are facilitating many people’s Dhamma-learning and generating happiness.  Sadhu anumodana!

I request everyone to spread the word around and to SHARE this new website with your contacts so as to make their ‘Buddha Day’ celebration more informative, inspiring and colourful.  Thank you!
