Nalanda Johor Branch members were joyful to back in their spiritual home after a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Sunday 6 March, members of Nalanda Johor Bahru Branch gathered in good spirits for their 9th Annual General Meeting. Members greeted each other joyfully, grateful for the opportunity to meet up again in their spiritual home at Nalanda Education & Outreach (NEO) Centre JB. President of Nalanda Buddhist Society Sis. Buddhini Tan and Sis. Foo Ai Li were also present to support the meeting.
A spiritual start to the important gathering.
After members received updates on the activities in 2021, they proceeded to elect the Branch Management Committee for 2022 – 2024. Sis. Buddhini Tan congratulated the newly-elected Committee led by Bro. David Yap, who re-assumed his role as Chairman. She encouraged members to ardently serve the Buddha-Sāsana in their various capacities, as every wholesome effort makes a difference to both ourselves and the community.
We express our gratitude and appreciation to the outgoing Committee for their dedication in the past two years to serve the community despite the limitations of the Covid-19 pandemic. We wish the new Committee a joyful and fruitful term. May the light of Dhamma continue to shine in our friends in the South!
