DLCY participants, facilitators and volunteers have forged bonds of friendship over the 4 days. The blessing of good spiritual friends is one to be treasured in life.
From 16 to 19 September, Nalanda Youth Centre hosted its fifth Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults at Wisdom Park in Kuala Kubu Bahru. The 100 participants immersed themselves in learning, reflection and wholesome friendship, and experienced the simple joy of living in accordance to Dhamma. Many participants renewed their strength and conviction to rise above worldly frivolities and live more purposefully in accordance to the Buddha’s teachings.
Days after the event, we continue to rejoice in the friendships forged and the earnestness for Dhamma of our campers. We hope you enjoy these photos of this memorable event, and together celebrate their spirit of learning! More photos are available on Nalanda Facebook page here.
At the start of the camp, the Organising Committee and facilitators warmly welcomed campers to this journey of inner discovery.
Sis. Paruadi Ramasamy shared about the realities of impermanence as taught by the Buddha, an important insight for us when we face life’s ups and downs.
Sis. Santi Cheang introduced campers to the spirit of chanting and also guided them in meditation.
Sis. Sunanda Ong spoke about how we can overcome disappointments and challenges which are a part of life.
A ‘Dhamma Chat’ with Sis. Nandini, Sis. Paru and Sis. Santi enabled campers to ask questions and clear their doubts.
Bro. Ong Boo Siong inspired campers in his sharing about his personal challenges and how he has overcome them.
Each Dhamma family had a facilitator to help campers in the discussions.
A hands-on activity for the families as they put into practice what they have learned.
Campers created their own avatar in this activity on grounding ourselves.
Chanting and meditation were the anchors of the camp, every morning and evening.
On the third day of the camp, everyone was ready to do some service at Wisdom Park.
Campers helped to plant trees which will contribute towards the conducive environment at Wisdom Park.
Teams presented their Dhamma solutions through creative sketches.
Throughout the camp, meaningful songs were shared to uplift everyone’s spirit and also enhance their learning.
Friendships blossomed as everyone grew more familiar with each other.
On the fourth day, campers shared how they can connected and opened up, not just to Dhamma but also to new friends whom they met at the camp.
Sis. Nandini advised campers to continue their learning and also in putting effort to continue in Dhamma-living after the camp.
We thank all Dhamma speakers, benefactors, participants and volunteers for their contribution in making the 2022 DLCY a fruitful one for all participants. Sadhu anumodana!
