The first session of the General Buddhist Studies in Mandarin course was conducted on 13 January. Organised by Nalanda Institute Malaysia’s Department of Buddhist & Pali Studies, this course has received positive responses and the first session was attended by 50 participants.
The topic discussed was “佛陀的生平” (The Life of Buddha). Based on the Pali doctrines, the session focused on learning about the Buddha and key events that took place during His life. Participants showed keen interest and actively engaged in the discussion with reflective questions and answers.
The session was concluded with a “Buddhist etiquette” sharing session on the proper way to bow, kneel and prostrate by Sis. Buddhini Tan.
