Hosting Ven. Ajahn Dhammasiha at Nalanda

We are very happy to welcome Ajahn Dhammasiha again, after his last trip in 2015.

On Wednesday 15 February, Nalanda Centre was honoured to welcome Ven. Ajahn Dhammasiha back to Nalanda Centre for a Dhamma talk.  Following the evening chanting, Ajahn started by advising us to take heed when we face the realities of life – aging, sickness and death, because these  are reminders to arouse urgency to progress along the spiritual journey.

Within the Noble Eightfold Path, Ajahn expounded on the practice of Right Speech which has evolved due to advances in technology.  We communicate in many more ways today, such as texting and on social media.  Hence, it is necessary for us to check our intentions in our interactions, in order for us to uphold the spirit of harmlessness.

On the building tour, Ajahn Dhammasiha also paid his respects to our late Spiritual Adviser, Ven. K. Sri Dhammananda.

Ajahn further encouraged us to put effort into reducing our defilements and gradually replacing them with wholesome actions.  The way to do so is shown by the Buddha and we just have to exert the effort to purify our minds.  To listen to the full Dhamma talk by Ajahn Dhammasiha, please click here.
