On Sunday 19 March, Nalanda Youth Centre hosted 17 students from Nottingham University’s Buddhist Society at the weekly Youth Sunday Service. With a zeal to learn, the youths listened attentively to a Dhamma talk by Sis. Paru on how we can cultivate the five mental faculties (Pañca Indriya) to better manage the challenges in life.
When we can develop these faculties of saddhā (faith), viriya (effort), sati (mindfulness), samādhi (concentration), and paññā (wisdom), we can better overcome unwholesome habits such as laziness, negligence, agitation and anger, and become more grounded to live more meaningful lives. The group then continued their learning about the rich Buddhist symbolism incorporated into the interior design of Nalanda Centre.
We rejoice in the high spirits of our kalyana mittas from Nottingham University and look forward to them joining us for more Dhamma learning programmes. May you continue to grow in the Dhamma. Sadhu anumodana.
