Spirited learning at ‘Entering the Stream’ Workshop

Spirited learning at ‘Entering the Stream’ Workshop

Participants were grateful for this opportunity to learn from Āyasmā Aggacitta on such an important topic.

From 8 – 10 July, over 80 participants, facilitators and volunteers gathered for the ‘Entering the Stream and Beyond’ Sutta Study with Meditation Workshop led by Āyasmā Aggacitta at Wisdom Park.  To prepare themselves for this topic of interest especially for Dhamma practitioners, participants have been having on-line discussions based on the workbook and supported by facilitators since May.

In the workshop, after Āyasmā Aggacitta explained the pertinent extracts compiled from the suttas, participants tackled the discussion questions in order to gain a better grasp of the topic.  To quell any doubts, he would then present the complete answers to deepen their understanding.  Āyasmā Aggacitta also led the group in Open Mindfulness Meditation, which many people found useful to anchor themselves back to the present moment whenever they have a free moment in their busy schedules.

Sis. Sandy Lim welcomed participants and provided a short briefing.

Bro. Tan Siang Chye, Director of Nalanda Institute conveyed his hope that participants will find this workshop useful in their spiritual pursuit.

The groups worked together to discuss the questions and present to the larger group.

The group also learned from each other during the discussion and presentation.

A few candid moments with Āyasmā Aggacitta as he probed into the presentation findings.

We extend our appreciation to Āyasmā Aggacitta for his compassion in reaching out to so many in the Buddhist community with the very words of the Buddha on the factors leading up and attributed to a Stream-enterer.  We also thank the volunteers who have dedicated their time and efforts to support the workshop, and rejoice in the diligence of all participants and facilitators.  With renewed spirits, let us all continue to strive towards final liberation.  Sadhu anumodana.
