We were all grateful for the opportunity to express our thanks and well-wishes to Ven. Saranankara on his 70th birthday.
On Saturday 28 October, 70 Nalanda leaders and members paid tribute to our Spiritual Adviser, Venerable B. Sri Saranankara Nāyaka Thero on the occasion of his 70th birthday at the Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple in Sentul. Joining over 200 members of the Buddhist community in the offering of lunch dāna, the congregation joyfully celebrated his reverence’s birthday and expressed their appreciation to him, having benefitted from his service of four decades.
In his words of ‘ovāda’, he reminded Nalanda leaders and members of the importance in maintaining a harmonious community. By upholding wholesome values and keeping Dhamma principles strongly in our hearts, we can together achieve more, especially in the company of spiritual friends. He also encouraged us to continue propagating the noble teachings of the Buddha for the well-being of many beings.
“Changes may take place, we will get physically worse but we can improve our mindset and mental well-being.”
