Profile of Ven. Ajahn Visālo

Ven. Ajahn Visalo was born in Central Java, Indonesia in 1977 where he was raised in a Catholic family.  In university, he practised meditation according to the Hindu tradition and ordained as a Swami at the age of 23.

After reading a book by Ajahn Chah, Ajahn visited Wat Pah Nanachat where he ordained in 2008 under Luang Por Liem, the Abbot of Wat Nong Pah Pong.  In the last 3 years, Tan Ajahn Visalo has been spending his time in the quiet hills of Chiang Mai amongst the hill tribe people.
