The wholesome deed of giving

The wholesome deed of giving

Rejoicing in the act of giving with good intentions.

On Saturday 15 June, the community at Seri Kembangan joined Nalanda members and volunteers in the monthly Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) programme with humble acts of offering food and requisites to venerable monks.

This act of giving, imbued with kindness and compassion, is a testament to our humanity and forms the foundation of our spirituality. When we give with right understanding and without expectations, we cultivate generosity and go against the defilements of greed, hatred and delusion.

We thank Ven. Pariyano and Ven. Pannaratana for giving the community an opportunity to do wholesome deeds.

Thank you to all the volunteers.

Engaging the public to introduce this programme and other Dhamma programmes.

During this Gimhana Retreat, let us all actively seek opportunities to cultivate generosity by giving with good intentions and heeding the Buddha’s teachings – “Before giving, the mind of the giver is glad. While giving the mind of the giver is bright & clear; and after giving is gratified.”  (Anguttara Nikaya 6.37).
