Tomorrow marks the grand opening of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, a spectacle of athletic prowess and international camaraderie. For the first time in the history of Olympic Summer Games, the Opening Ceremony will not take place in a stadium, but in the heart of the city of Paris.

Athletes from across the globe have gathered, each carrying the hopes and dreams of their nations, ready to compete in amity and peace.  Reflecting on each Olympian’s discipline and spirit of perseverance, it is akin to living in accordance to Dhamma where we often need that same immense effort and determination to overcome defilements to walk the Noble Eightfold Path.

May all the athletes participating in the Paris Olympics compete healthily and safely, as well as foster friendship among their respected peers and have sympathetic joy for each other’s achievements.  Let the Games begin, and may they inspire and uplift us all.
