On Tuesday 17 December, the young working adults from Nalanda Youth Centre gathered for their monthly meeting at Nalanda Community Centre. This session featured a dialogue with Mr. Wong Kar Cane, former General Manager of Eu Yan Sang, who shared how his Dhamma learning enhanced his leadership and people skills in advancing his career.
Mr. Wong shared many personal anecdotes and insights on how humility does not prevent us from showing our best and assisting others. He emphasised that recognising one’s own excellence fosters an inner drive to strive further. He also shared that to be competent employees at a young age, it is crucial to be reliable people – keep what we have promised and know our limits. Additionally, it is essential to continuously expand our knowledge beyond our current fields and to embrace challenges and stress effectively. Mr. Wong concluded by reminding us that we are fortunate to have a great mentor— the Buddha Himself!
We thank Mr. Wong for sharing his precious insights and experience with our young working adults in navigating their careers holistically. Special thanks to the organising team for creating such a valuable learning opportunity for the young adults. Sādhu anumodāna!
