On Saturday 4 January, Nalanda members and devotees were honoured to have Venerable B. Saranankara Thero, our Spiritual Advisor lead the Society’s first pindacāra (monks on alms-round) in the new year at the O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets. Many vendors and market-goers accustomed to this endearing tradition, gathered happily to offer food and requisites together with their well-wishes.
Ven. Saranankara shared that this programme is a good way to reach lay people who may have little knowledge and opportunity to support the Maha Sangha. Through the consistent engagement, they are able make the offerings with right intentions and reap joy as well as plant seeds of generosity within and even avail future opportunities to learn Dhamma and grow spiritually.
Join us to rejoice in this outreach programme which started in 2012, and has through the years become an endearing part of the local community’s practice. We extend our appreciation to all the Sangha members for their support, as well as to all Nalanda members, volunteers and devotees for your efforts. Sadhu anumodāna.
