On the bright Saturday morning of 7 October, two venerable monks were invited to go on alms-round at Happy Garden and Taman O.U.G. markets. This monthly meritorious Nalanda KL Branch programme began with volunteers gathering at NEO Centre for chanting and short meditation, followed by a briefing before heading out to O.U.G. market for Pindacāra with full spirit.
Volunteers reached the market early in the morning and were joyfully greeted by devotees there. By 8.30am, the two venerables arrived and started their alms-round. Both venerables were warmly welcomed by market-goers and stall operators who generously offered food; the regular donors have been supporting this meritorious programme for a long time. The Pindacāra continued in Happy Garden market before the venerables and volunteers headed back to NEO Centre at 9.45am.
Nalanda volunteers and devotees listened to an inspiring Dhamma talk by Bro. Ooi Boon Keat on “4 Brahma Viharas“, which could be related to their experiences earlier during Pindacāra. All in, this monthly meritorious programme was a great success, thanks to the fervent support of the local community.
We joyfully invite everyone to participate in our next educational Pindacāra at Taman O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets this Saturday, 4 November, starting at 8.30am. You may bring cooked vegetarian food as offerings to Sangha members.
Please share the news with everyone; bring along your family members and friends to participate in this wholesome act. If you would like to volunteer your services, kindly contact Bro. Ng at 012-273-9787. Thank you and see you!
