Annual Gimhāna Retreat begins

Annual Gimhāna Retreat begins

We welcome all to learn and understand the Dhamma progressively throughout this retreat.

For seven weeks after the Buddha’s Enlightenment on Wesak full-moon in May, He contemplated on the Dhamma with His perfectly clear faculty of comprehension.  Then, He travelled for seven days from Uruvela to Sarnath, where He preached the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta on Asalha Day, the full-moon in July.

It is during this period that Nalanda members observe the Gimhāna Retreat annually.  We invite you to join us for 7 weeks of relatively intensive Dhamma learning and practice at Nalanda Centre.  We welcome everyone to come and understand the Dhamma progressively through communal and personal practice.   Take part in the following weekly programmes :

Gimhāna Sunday Service | Every Sunday,  9.00 am − 12.00 pm
Meditation & Dhamma Teaching  |  Every Wednesday,  8.00 pm − 10.00 pm

Nalanda founder Bro.Tan will launch this year’s Gimhāna Observance on Wednesday 13 June, by leading the meditation session and thereafter deliver the first teaching of the 7-week retreat.  The session will be from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.  All are welcome!
