In conjunction with Nalanda ‘Education Day’, 35 Nalanda officers gathered at Nalanda Centre on 12 December 2016 for the second-ever Nalanda Education Workshop. The aim of the workshop was to chart and align the direction of all Nalanda education divisions in accordance with the ‘Nalanda Education Philosophy’.

Several Nalandian youths who were volunteering there were pleasantly surprised by his presence. Bro. Tan spent an hour chatting with the crew and volunteers to listen to their plans and aspirations. Thousands of his disciples and students returned to Wat Pah Pong in Ubon Ratchathani to observe the occasion with meditation, Dhamma teaching, and merit making. Among the senior disciples present were Luang Phor Liem, successor to Ajahn Chah as Abbot of Wat Pah Pong, and Luang Phor Sumedho, Ajahn Chah’s senior-most Western disciple and the first Abbot of Wat Pah Nanachat.
