Amazing ‘Family Fun Fair’ at NEO Centre JB

Sunday, 13 September was indeed a joyful and memorable day as Nalanda Johor Bahru Branch held its inaugural ‘Family Fun Fair’ (‘FFF’).  Nalandians from the Klang Valley and Kedah arrived a day before to help in preparations and lend support to our Johor Bahru Branch members.  It showcased the spirit of ‘samaggi’ (unity and concord) among members and volunteers.

Fruitful Emceeing Workshop

On Saturday 12 September, Nalanda Institute organised an emceeing workshop themed, “Inspire Your Audience”.  The fruitful workshop was designed to train in-house emcees to host various Nalanda programmes and activities with poise, confidence and effectiveness.  The facilitators, Sis. Sadhika Tan and Bro. Tong, shared many useful techniques including ways to overcome stage fright, effective delivery, as well as organising and preparing the presentation.

On Wednesday 9 September, Nalanda was honoured with Ayya Susīla’s presence to lead us in the weekly group meditation and Dhamma discussion.  Many Dhamma practitioners eagerly turned up to learn from Ayya’s vast experience and knowledge in the field.

Alms-Round in Sri Petaling & Happy Garden

On Saturday 5 September, the monthly educational ‘Pindacara’ (monks going on alms-round) Programme at Sri Petaling and Happy Garden markets was held with two venerable Sangha members going on alms-round.  Devotees and members of the public waited patiently along the ‘Pindacara’ route, for the venerable monks to arrive and joyfully offered alms food.

Ayya Susīla visits Nalanda Centre

On Sunday 6 September, Nalanda Centre welcomed the visit by venerable Ayya Susīla, the Founder of Appamāda Viharī Meditation Centre in Penang.  Ayya who was on a short trip to Kuala Lumpur specially made time to visit the recently-completed Nalanda annex building, accompanied by some of her devotees.
