Special prayers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport

On Sunday 9 March, a team of Nalandians led by Nalanda’s Deputy President Bro. Lee Teck Beng joined other religious groups to perform special prayers for the casualties of MH370 and their families at Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s Main Terminal Building.  Let us continue to extend our compassionate thoughts to the passengers of MH370, their families, and loved ones. Special Prayers in Serdang and JB for Victims of MH370

Nalandians gathered on 8-10 March for pūja and chanting to share merits with the casualties of flight MH370 that went missing, and which presumably crashed into sea.  The flight was a routine one from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.  At this juncture, the circumstances surrounding the tragedy remain unclear.

Ajahn Chah Book Series at Pustaka Nalanda

On Wednesday 5 March, Pustaka Nalanda (Library) received the latest set of Chinese translations on the Teachings of Ajahn Chah, published by Dhammavamsa Publications.  The late Venerable Ajahn Chah (1918 – 1992) was a well-known Buddhist teacher in the Thai forest tradition.  He gathered around him a large cluster of disciples and students – Thai and foreigners alike – who have since propagated the Dhamma to the far corners of the world.

Free School Classes commence in Johor Bahru

Nalanda Free School (NFS) classes started on Monday, 3 March at NEO Centre in Taman Johor Jaya.  The Centre became lively with enthusiasm and laughter of the teachers and students. Branch Chairman Bro.Yap, Deputy Chairperson Sis. Angie, and other officers were at hand to welcome volunteer teachers, parents and students to the first session.  NFS JB Branch Co-ordinator Sis. Ng Choy Hong gave all students a briefing before their lessons.

Dear friends, We have taken note of many requests in the past weeks to have a Facebook fanpage in Chinese Language so as to communicate more effectively with the Mandarin-speaking community.  We are happy to report that a team of volunteers have agreed to help in establishing and maintaining the Chinese-Language page.  The fanpage was launched just a few hours ago, today!
