Nalandians usher in 2013 with pūja, meditation, and wise reflection. On 31 December 2012, Nalanda members and devotees gathered at the Sri Serdang Nalanda Centre following an annual tradition to reflect on the passing of 2012, and to usher in the New Year. Dressed in elegant Nalanda sarong uniforms, devotees greeted each other joyfully with words of thanks, mutual appreciation, and encouragement.

Shortly after her ordination, Mahapajapati Gotami asked the Buddha for a short Dhamma instruction that would guide her in her solitary practice. The Buddha gave a discourse on the eight principles for recognizing what qualifies as Dhamma and Vinaya, and what does not. The eight principles have been widely cited ever since. How often do you get to experience LOVE for 4 days continuously? 61 children of the recent "The Fruits of Metta" Children’s Learning Camp experienced unconditional love during their stay in at Nalanda Centre from 6 - 9 December 2012. The camp aimed to impart the important message of love and also to expose participants to the practice of patience, endurance and mindfulness.

The monthly alms-round allows lay people to do good deeds with kind intentions and actions. A team of Nalandians with full devotion encouraged more people in the market to ‘do good and feel good’. They also took the opportunity to engage with the public and explain to them on the practice of Pindacāra.
