Hosting Ven. Jutipañño at NEO Centre KL

NEO Centre Kuala Lumpur is honoured to host Venerable Jutipañño Mahāthero on Saturday, 8 March for a Dhamma teaching.  A monk of Malaysian Chinese descent, Ven. Jutipañño was ordained at Wat Bhodhisampan, Chonburi in 1991.  He returned to Malaysia from Thailand in 2000, and established Dhamma Light Meditation Centre at Api-Api, Johor, where he currently serves as its abbot. Ven. Jutipañño also previously served on the Monastic Advisory Panel of Theravāda Buddhist Council of Malaysia.

Ven. Prof. K.L. Dhammajoti teaches at NEO Centre KL

On Thursday February 20, Nalanda members and devotees warmly welcomed Venerable Prof. K.L. Dhammajoti to NEO Centre in Happy Garden for a Dhamma teaching.  In today’s busy world where many become more interested in calming the mind, Ven. Dhammajoti aptly shared about the importance of Buddhist meditation and how we should approach it in a holistic manner.

Nalanda Free School commenced its new academic year last Monday 17 February at Nalanda Centre.  New and returning students have begun to strengthen their skills in core subjects including Mathematics, Science and languages guided by dedicated volunteer teachers.

Last Saturday, 15 February, the local community at Seri Kembangan gathered in a festive mood at the monthly Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) programme. This round, volunteers were joined by Nalanda Dhamma School students, as a reward for their teamwork during the School’s Orientation Camp.

Meaningful beginning for new parents

On Sunday, 16 February, new parents of Nalanda Dhamma School students attended the first session of the Parents Induction Programme (PIP) at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang. Sis. See Hui Shien, Director of Nalanda Dhamma School, welcomed them warmly and introduced the Buddhist spiritual path, highlighting how education and cultivation can bring about personal and family transformation.

‘The Gradual Training’ workshop by Āyasmā Aggacitta

Register for the ‘The Gradual Training’ Sutta Study with Meditation Workshop conducted by Āyasmā Aggacitta to investigate what the suttas say about the nature and development of jhānas as part of a comprehensive, sequential scheme of training. This workshop is suitable for participants who have a good understanding of core Buddhist concepts and practice, including the Four Noble Truths and Noble Eightfold Path.
