Namo Buddhaya! This year’s Buddha Day commemoration at Nalanda will be from 10 to 18 May with a host of Dhamma learning and devotional programmes. The theme for Buddha Day B.E. 2569 is ‘Leading a Life of Wisdom and Compassion’, and we invite you to come explore how we can develop our wisdom and compassion for our own spiritual progress and at the same time to benefit our loved ones, our social circle and the wider community. The programmes lined up are :
‘The Gradual Training’ Sutta Study with Meditation Workshop
Saturday, 10 May | 8am – 7pm
Conducted by Āyasmā Aggacitta for participants to investigate what the suttas say about the nature and development of jhānas as part of a comprehensive, sequential scheme of training. This workshop is for pre-registered participants.
Buddha Day Eve Morning Service
Sunday, 11 May | 9am – 12pm
On the eve of Buddha Day, join us for the Morning Service at 8am, featuring a Dhamma talk by Sis. Paruadi Ramasamy on the significance of Buddha Day, followed by offering of lunch dāna to Sangha members.

Tuesday, 12 May | 7am – 10pm
7.00am – Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) in Sri Serdang.
9.00am – Buddha Pūja, followed by a Dhamma talk by Bro. Tan Siang Chye.
11.30am – Offering of Lunch dāna to the Sangha, followed by lunch for 8-preceptees and devotees
1.00pm – Film Screening
5.30pm – Mass Food Offering to devotees and the community.
7.30pm – Heritage Procession, a unique cultural and spiritual experience where the Buddharupam is conveyed on a wooden sedan by traditionally dressed devotees, to the harmonious beating of drums and gongs. This will be followed by Dhamma Appreciation Night, hosted by Nalanda Dhamma School and Nalanda Youth Centre.

Group Meditation & Dhamma teaching by Luang Por Dumrong

Luang Por Dumrong, who trained under Ajahn Chah since 1971, will be leading the guided meditation session followed by a Dhamma teaching.

Nalanda Youth Centre will host this Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) programme to reach out to the local community with the opportunity to do a wholesome deed and cultivate generosity.
Peace Walk at NEO Centre, Happy Garden

Join the Buddha Day ‘Peace Walk’ in Happy Garden, organised by Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch. The programme will commence at 6pm with light refreshments followed by a Dhamma talk at 6.30pm. The serene ‘Peace Walk’ around the housing community will start at 7.30pm.
