Volunteers skill-up at NEO KL

On Saturday 25 March, 30 volunteers joined a volunteers training programme at NEO KL in Happy Garden to develop their skills in service to the community.  Facilitated by Sis. Buddhinī Tan and Bro. Charlie Teng, volunteers recapped their important role in contributing towards a conducive learning experience.  Through our sincerity and care, we can better play our part in providing holistic educational opportunities based on Buddha-Dhamma.

Families learn together at Dhamma School

Since Sunday 19 March, over 70 parents and children have been learning together at Family Dhamma School, held at NEO KL in Happy Garden.  This weekly programme is newly launched in conjunction with Nalanda's 20th Anniversary, to provide a learning platform for both parents and children to grow spiritually and achieve domestic bliss.

Members meet for Branch A.G.M. in KL, JB and SP

Since early March, Nalanda branch members in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Sungai Petani have come together for their respective Branch Annual General Meetings to carry out their constitutional duties.   Members reviewed the past year’s reports of their Management Committees and discussed plans for the year ahead as the endemic stage stabilizes.

Nalanda Family Dhamma School starts this Sunday

This Sunday 19 March, we joyfully welcome participants of the inaugural Nalanda Family Dhamma School to NEO Centre in Happy Garden for their first school session at 9am.  This learning platform for both parents and children to grow spiritually and achieve domestic bliss, is launched in conjunction with the year-long commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of Nalanda Buddhist Society.

Inspiring ‘Bhavana Day’ with Ven. Jutipañño

On Saturday 11 February, 85 participants joined ‘Bhavana Day’ with Ven. Jutipañño Mahāthero, at NEO Centre Happy Garden.  On this day of cultivation tailored for devotees new to meditation, Ven. Jutipañño guided participants in observing their breath and be in the present moment.

‘Bhavana Day’ with Ven. Jutipañño

On Saturday 11 February, Venerable Jutipañño Mahāthero, Abbot of Dhamma Light Meditation Centre, will lead ‘Bhāvanā Day’– a one-day meditation retreat in Mandarin – at Nalanda Education and Outreach Centre in Happy Garden KL.  Registration is now closed.  All registered participants are reminded to arrive at NEO KL by 8.30am this Saturday. Please wear suitable and comfortable clothing, and bring along a shawl or jacket to keep warm.

Pindacāra during Lunar New Year festivities

On Saturday 4 February, the community at O.U.G. and Happy Market gathered to perform the meritorious deed of dāna in support of the Mahā Sangha. Even as vendors and marketgoers are busy preparing for the last few days of the Lunar New Year festivities, many stepped forward to offer food and requisites at Pindacāra (monks on alms-round), experiencing the joy of giving especially to those worthy of honour.
