Community gathers for learning today

Today, Nalanda Centre and the Society branches are buzzing with activity as communities from the north to the south gather for their learning programmes. Nalanda Education and Outreach (NEO) Centre in Sungai Petani hosted the Saturday Morning Service featuring a Dhamma talk by Bro. Ananda Fong, whilst Family Dhamma School parents and children gathered for their final session of the year in NEO Centre Johor Bahru.

Venerable nuns on alms-round in O.U.G. & Happy Garden

On Saturday 2 November, the Buddhist community came together to offer alms to venerable nuns during the monthly Pindacāra programme organised by Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch.  A familiar practice for many at the O.U.G. and Happy Garden morning markets, market goers and stall operators offered their requisites generously to the nuns.

Hosting Firefly Mission on study tour of Bujang Valley

From 18 to 19 October, Nalanda leaders from Serdang and Sungai Petani branch hosted Firefly Mission Singapore on their inaugural study tour of Bujang Valley, Kedah.  The group led by Firefly Mission Deputy President Bro. Arnold Lee, was warmly welcomed at Nalanda Education and Outreach Centre Sungai Petani as this yearly reunion has been an endearing tradition as part of their annual Kathina Tour to Northern Malaysia.

Lighting up the Peninsula with Dhamma programmes

In the past three days, Nalanda members and volunteers have been privileged to host 11 Dhamma programmes for over 450 people across Peninsula Malaysia!  This wonderful weekend started from Friday 18 October, with welcoming our good friends from Firefly Mission Singapore for a study tour of Bujang Valley in Sungai Petani and also hosting Chempaka Buddhist Lodge 千百家佛教居士林 for a Dhamma Camp at Wisdom Park.

Registration for Dhamma School now opens

Learning Dhamma is essential for the wholesome development of mind and character to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.  Nalanda Dhamma School has thus been serving this purpose; to provide holistic Buddhist education to the younger generations by imparting them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and most importantly, religious and moral values.  Ultimately, students are independently equipped for worldly responsibilities and are set to eventually experience spiritual awakening in their lives.

Monks on alms-round in Taman OUG & Happy Garden

On Saturday 5 October, the community came together to offer alms to the Sangha in the morning markets of Taman OUG and Happy Garden.  The serene sight of the Sangha members on alms-round inspired many market-goers to offer food and drinks with deep devotion.

Family Dhamma School’s wholesome day of service and bonding

On Saturday 17 August, over 60 students and facilitators of Family Dhamma School Kuala Lumpur had a family outing to experience the joy of service and strengthen family well-being.
