Today marks the 61st anniversary of the formation of ‘Malaysia’ – a federation of 13 states spanning the Malay Peninsula, Sarawak, and Sabah. To commemorate this occasion, over 80 youths at the Dhamma-living Camp raised the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ early this morning reflecting on how our part in nation-building is first through our own character-building by inculcating gratitude, compassion and peace within.

Chandima explained that while desire can lead to suffering, not all desires are harmful. For laypeople, having worldly goals or enjoying sensual pleasures is not blameworthy, as long as one does not develop greed and obsession.
