On Sunday 25 August, a memorial service was held at Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Leh – Ladakh, conducted by Ven. Sanghasena. 35 Nalandians, led by Nalanda founder Bro. Tan, were present to personally honour our dear sisters – G. G. Tan, Julie Ang, Jennie Cheong, and Lee Ah Yem – who lost their lives in a tragic accident whilst on a charitable mission there.

This auspicious occasion fell on the full-moon of the month Asalha; it commemorates the preaching of Buddha’s first discourse after His Enlightenment, when He taught His first five disciples the fundamental teachings of ‘Four Noble Truths’. The celebrated discourse – ‘Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta’ – reverberated throughout Nalanda Centre as Bro. Tan led devotees in reciting it.
