Lighting up the Peninsula with Dhamma programmes

In the past three days, Nalanda members and volunteers have been privileged to host 11 Dhamma programmes for over 450 people across Peninsula Malaysia!  This wonderful weekend started from Friday 18 October, with welcoming our good friends from Firefly Mission Singapore for a study tour of Bujang Valley in Sungai Petani and also hosting Chempaka Buddhist Lodge 千百家佛教居士林 for a Dhamma Camp at Wisdom Park.

Dhamma School Teachers’ Learning Day at National Camp’s 2nd Reunion Day

On Saturday 12 October, over 60 teachers and educators from 13 Dhamma Schools across the nation, joined the 2nd Reunion Day for the National Dhamma School Teachers’ Camp at Wisdom Park.  Gathering with the like-minded, the teachers supported each other in their learning led by Bro. Aggaphala Yap on how to guide students in cultivating a positive mindset and to develop strong partnerships with parents.

BPS307 participants complete final leg of the course

On Saturday 5 October, over 70 participants and volunteers gathered at Nalanda Centre for the BPS 307 (Certificate in Buddhist Studies) written evaluation.  Preparing over the past weeks by revising lecture notes and having group discussions, 55 participants sat for the evaluation, the final part of the certificate course run by Nalanda Institute Malaysia.

Registration for Dhamma School now opens

Learning Dhamma is essential for the wholesome development of mind and character to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.  Nalanda Dhamma School has thus been serving this purpose; to provide holistic Buddhist education to the younger generations by imparting them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and most importantly, religious and moral values.  Ultimately, students are independently equipped for worldly responsibilities and are set to eventually experience spiritual awakening in their lives.

Volunteer as a Dhamma School Facilitator

For many years, Nalanda Dhamma School has been a cornerstone in providing holistic Buddhist education and nurturing the next generation of compassionate leaders. With the support of the school facilitators, our students have grown in understanding, wisdom and compassion. They go on to contribute their energy and talents to the Buddhist community and beyond, involved in social initiatives that make a difference in society.

Monks on alms-round in Taman OUG & Happy Garden

On Saturday 5 October, the community came together to offer alms to the Sangha in the morning markets of Taman OUG and Happy Garden.  The serene sight of the Sangha members on alms-round inspired many market-goers to offer food and drinks with deep devotion.
