The congregation’s recitation of the inspiring ‘Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta’ led by Bro. Lim Ajit, was charged with faith and gratitude for our Fully Enlightened Teacher.

Read moreWe are honoured to host Ven. Ajahn Kalyano, for a Dhamma talk at Nalanda Education & Outeach Centre Sungai Petani, at 7.30pm Tuesday 11 July. Ajahn Kalyano was born in London. His deep interest in Buddhism brought him to Thailand after completing his studies at Bristol University. Ajahn Kalyano received ordination in the forest tradition of Ajahn Chah in 1985 and trained for many years under Ajahn Anan. In 2000, Ajahn Kalyano was invited to establish the forest tradition in Australia where he is now the Abbot of Buddha Bodhivana Monastery in East Warburton, Victoria.

Lim Sukhito, Abbot of Bukit Mertajam Buddhist Meditation Centre. The camp on “Living a meaningful life with the Noble Eightfold Path” was hosted at Nalanda Education & Outreach Sungai Petani, for participants to better understand the Noble Eightfold Path and cultivate virtues to live a purposeful and fulfilling life.

Read moreIt is with much joy and profound gratitude that I write this message on the happy occasion of Nalanda Institute's 16th Anniversary. This remarkable milestone symbolizes many years of unwavering dedication to the study, practice, and dissemination of the Buddha’s sublime teachings. The first few months of this year witnessed many Buddhist organisations opening up for in-person activities. With the easing of restrictions, Buddhists have been able to meet face-to-face, keeping the fervour of kalyana mitta burning bright in our community. I do hope that we will soon close the unfortunate chapter of the Covid-19 pandemic with a deep measure of optimism.
